Large 2MW Temp Generator Deployed

February 22, 2021 9:48 am by Jesse Falk

This is, by far, one of the biggest temporary generator setups that Decon has delivered for quite some time. Our Facilities Asset Management team, who are on stand-by 24/7 365 days of the year, were called out to repair this mighty unit last week.

We connected the 2MW Temp Generator and reassured the client with back-up power while the team worked to get the repairs done in order to get it back online.

Mobiles Construction Build at Perth Stadium

January 21, 2021 12:59 pm by Jesse Falk

The views in the field don’t get better than this for our Decon team with the iconic Perth Stadium, the Matagarup Bridge and Perth’s CBD in the backdrop.

The Matagarup Bridge is a suspension pedestrian bridge crossing over the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia.

A challenging 5G build but the Decon team persisted and got it over the line.

Panduit – AU Telco & Fibre wire labelling specification

Including (OPTUS, TELSTRA & VHA)

Panduit has become the preferred labelling standard by many carriers in Australia due to its durable and long lasting properties of self-laminating Vinyl, Nylon, reflective labels and Poly Marker Plates. The print is black on white or black on yellow and the materials are comprised of military-grade polyolefin, It is for this reason that this material is specified and preferred for printing Fibre labels.

Three main factors determine the material and adhesive used for a desired location. They are:

  • Application (what is it going on to)
  • Environment (where will it be)
  • Time (how long will it need to last)

Tricky Aerial Fibre Install

The photo here was taken at a site where we installed fibre through rugged mountainous terrain on high-voltage power poles. One part of the install involved flying a drone from the top of the hill down to the bottom with a fishing line attached. We dropped the fishing line when we were clear of the trees, and then we used the fishing line to haul the cable on the back of a rope.
